Meet Our Chemtex Crew: Julia

It’s no secret that Chemtex does business by our core values: Simple. Focused. Driven. These values drive us to make things simple, clearly understand and meet our customers needs while delivering the best customer service possible.

We wanted to take some time to introduce you to our amazing crew who exemplify these core values every day and help us do what we do! So, with that said, meet Julia, Administrative Assistant extraordinaire! Scroll down to learn a little more about this Chemtex team member from a recent interview.

Please provide a brief history of your Chemtex career.

I started with Chemtex in 2016 as a temp. My position was a “work-in-progress” intended to assist other departments with their overload. I began with scanning every piece of paper in the building, it seemed! Over the last years, my job has morphed a bit. Now I do normal administrative assistant work like answering phones and handling mail. I also work as support for Chemtex South, invoicing, handling early-stage collections, accounts receivables, company vehicle leasing and setting up an inexhaustible slew of online portals for vendors and customers, etc.

What do you like most about your job and Chemtex?

I enjoy being a go-to person to get odds and ends done. I love the family-friendly atmosphere at Chemtex. And the food! We eat a LOT and have some great cooking/baking competitions.

What would your advice be on the key to success?

Integrity. Say what you mean and mean what you say.

What’s one thing about you not many people know?

I am first and foremost a Christian, and there isn’t a day that goes by that I don’t read from the Bible, my favorite book. The verses I read offer the encouragement, strength and direction for everything in my day-to-day life.  The best (and most difficult!) job I’ve ever had is being a mom. I have been blessed with six kids and two granddaughters, and those blessings come with equal portions of responsibility, but I wouldn’t trade them for the world!

Do you have a favorite quote?

Recently, I heard a quote that I won’t forget for some time, because it is so challenging and visual: Spread kindness like it’s confetti!  I love that thought!
